Vintage Pin Up Posters Noted Painter, Alberto Vargas

Alberto Vargas was a noted painter of Vintage Pin Up Posters and paintings of pin-up girls and erotica. He was born in Arequipa, Peru and came to the United States in 1916. Prior to coming to the U.S., he studied art in Europe just before WW I.

Not only did he do Vintage Pin Up Posters, he also did much work for Hollywood studios. His most famous work was The Sin of Nora Moran; which has a pose of Zita Johann is desperation and practically naked.

Playboy magazine began to use his Vintage Pin Up Posters work a referred to his art as “Vargas Girls”. His career flourished at that point.

Vargas did his Vintage Pin Up Posters paintings mostly with a combo of watercolor and the airbrush. He was a master of the airbrush and this is noted with the Vargas Award; which is given annually by Airbrush Action Magazine.
